This season of life shall soon end.  New things are on the horizon.  Here is what's been going on:Kristin is almost fully recovered from her ACL surgery.  She has been a beast doing her rehab.  She will be able to play soccer again in the winter.  She recently ran three Sunday afternoon soccer clinics, with about 35 kids at each one.  I helped out - my group was the 3 to 5 year olds, so I get a

Braedan decided that he didn't want to use his training wheels anymore.  Either I am crazy or 3 is a bit early to be riding without training wheels.  This video is his first attempt on a two wheeler...age 3 years, 17 days old.

Haley started ice hockey last week.  The first week was just a little bit of skating with the equipment on - no sticks.  This week they did some skating and some sticks.  She is #12, a white jersey.  There were about 50 kids there, and she is the only girl!

We took the kids on a little 24-hour getaway from Thursday afternoon to Friday afternoon.  It was a surprise, and they loved it!  First, we drove 30 miles south to a Hampton Inn near Washington, PA.  Our time there...indoor pool, dinner, more indoor pool, bedtime, breakfast, more indoor pool!  Then we headed down to the southside for indoor climbing at REI.  Good family times!

We had a little family party for B's 3rd birthday.  It was cake and presents, nice and simple like it should be for a 3-year-old!  He loved the baseball stuff, the tools, and the clothes that he got, and the highlights were the "wooden train table" from Grandma Griffin and the "real" marching drum from Grandma and Grandpa Steffey.

We've had a hectic couple of days.  Thursday night we grabbed the kids and went to see U23D - big mistake.  First of all, the kids were predictably restless throughout.  Hannah likes 'Vertigo' and that was the first song, so once she saw and heard that the rest was history.  Haley and Braedan were crazy.  And of course we did not know it was going to be $11 per person, even for the kids.  I guess

We've been having a time about 3 nights a week for "family play time" - from around 6 to 6:45 (on the nights the girls don't have gymnastics) - and tonight we ended with a pyramid...this was Hannah's night and was preceded by drawing time (we all drew portraits according to her instructions), wrestling time, and charades.

Braedan has a great time at Surf City. He is a wild man, so we've nicknamed him Bam Bam, like the kid of Barney and Betty on the Flintstones. He loved the waverunners, and went on about 10 times. Kristin and I celebrated our 10th anniversary while we were at Surf City. We headed out to dinner in Ludington, and then I surprised her by taking her on a scenic airplane ride of the Michigan Coast. Kristin is at the NSCAA National Advanced Diploma training course this week in Kansas City, so I am flying solo with the kids. It is only day two, but I am just barely scraping by. It is a joy to be with them, but it is not easy. May is here. April was very busy. Mark just had Global Impact this past weekend. It was the 3rd year that he had a main leadership role in it. It's a one-day community service event that helps middle and high school students learn how to be part of God's mission in the world. This year there were 500 people there.
